PRODUCTION

Charcoal production is one of the main streams of the Perechin Timber and Chemical Plant OJSV productive activity. The history of charcoal production starts at the end of XIX century from beginning of the Plant's foundation.

Nowadays this workshop is equipped with a modern pyrolysis reactors — a vertical retorts with automatic production. An final product of this process is charcoal of deciduous oak, beech and hornbeam hardwoods. Inert and gas residuals are emitted from the retort and are burnt in a combustor, producing a source of heat for the retorts and extra heat for other productions. This technology was implemented in CIS countries for the first time in 2000. The total capacity allows us to produce 18000-20000 tons of charcoal and briquettes per year.

Being progressive in technology, mechanization level and construction, the vertical retort is environmentally safe and wasteless. Modern engineering design ensures a high quality of charcoal, minimizes spoilage and guarantee constancy of quality and ecological purity of the product. The charcoal's quality meets the demands of German standard DIN 51749-H and domestic technical conditions TUU 24.1.00274105.009-2001, and the briquette's quality meets the demands of DIN 51749-B and TU 24.1.00274105.010-2001.

The problem of fine fraction charcoal is solved by means of production of charcoal briquettes. The charcoal briquettes are produced of charcoal (fraction less then 20 mm) which is shredded and mixed with natural glue additive. The product is pressed into briquettes of oval shape (43 x 40 x 22 mm). The charcoal briquette is a smokeless high quality fuel. It possesses mechanical durability, low water absorption, extended density, inflam-mability and high heating value (more than 32,000 kilojoules/kg).
